A new snack for the six year old

I have a six-year-old's with a picky eating behavior. Add in the fact that he wants something to eat all of the time doesn't help matters. After he gets home from school the first thing out of his mouth is “can I have something to eat” and sometimes it starts before we even get home.

I got a coupon in the mail for Smucker's Uncrustables from BzzAgent to try the product and give my feedback.

I have wanted to try these sandwiches for a while, but didn’t want to spend $2.60 or so for something that he may or may not want to eat.

He likes grilled cheese and peanut butter jelly sandwiches so it seemed like a good fit. We got the grilled cheese variety since he always wants a grilled cheese but it’s not something I can quick fix for him, especially for a snack, and while I am trying to get things finished up so I can start dinner. The sandwiches were easy to make and something he could probably do himself, with little waiting. All you need to do is open the individual packaging, slide it in the microwave sleeve and heat. It was done in less than a minute. He adored the sandwiches. They may have been a little small for him and his never ending appetite, but it helped tide him over until dinner on most days. It’s much better than cutting the cheese, spreading the butter, grilling, all while listening to a whiney, hungry six-year-old. I may have tried the peanut butter and jelly variety, but the store didn’t have them in whole wheat and he already eats tons of pb&js already. I also thought the grilled cheese would make it a special treat since this is not a food I make everyday. I thought the sandwich tasted ok, however it was small. The chesse is a processed cheese between white bread and was slightly toasted. It's not my preferred snack, but for the kids it is something great to get us through to dinner.

It's a good convenience food and you may want to try it for your children. At approximately $0.65 per sandwich, it was a great timesaving snack.
